Good, used Books Wanted
SAWC's Education & Libraries Committee is seeking donations of used books for all ages, in good condition, to help stock the Little Free Library we recently donated and erected in Pelham, NH, in front of Lyons Park. Contact: Mary Daniell @ SalemAreaWomensClub@gmail.com

A Chorus Line
Sat, May 31, 2pm at the Palace Theater, Manchester. We'll have a large contingent of members going to see this stunning concept musical capturing the spirit and tension of a Broadway ensemble audition. Quilters Group
Calling all Sewers and Quilters to join our new Quilting Club! Member Jeanne Malisos has volunteered her sewing room as a place to gather and make quilts to support the various efforts SAWC has partnered with. New SAWC Volunteer Opportunities

Who said picking up trash couldn't be fun?
On Friday, April 4, from 10 AM to 12 PM, meet at Big Lots parking lot, Veterans Memorial Parkway (across from the Police Department), Salem. Wear work clothes, long socks, boots, and gloves; we will provide fluorescent vests. Sign up by contacting Anne Reynolds or just show up; more hands make light work

Ongoing Committee Volunteer Opportunities

Health & Wellness
The Health & Wellness Committee has a monthly volunteer project at Silverthorne Adult Day Center, Geremonty Drive, on the first Tuesday of every month, immediately following our membership meeting. Members help entertain their participants by singing, reading a book, making a craft, or just old-fashioned visiting and conversation. Silverthorne also welcomes volunteer help at any time. Civic Engagement & Outreach
The Civic Engagement and Outreach Committee invites members to provide appetizers for the Bridging the Horizons Magic Fred Show on Saturday, April 19. We need light appetizers like crackers, cheese, dips, and fruit that don’t require heating. Donna will handle picking up and dropping off the donations. If you're interested in helping, please contact Donna Mason or sign up at the April General Meeting.

DUST BUSTERS
Love to clean and organize? Join the Civic Engagement & Outreach "Dust Busters" volunteering to help put the Salem Historical Museum back together after its recent major renovation. Mondays, 10-12am, at Museum, Main St, Salem. Questions? Contact Susan Mothon

Sat, Apr 19, 10-12noon, at the historic Alice Hall Library, Main St, Salem. SAWC has partnered with The Salem Historical Society to take you back in time to your grandma’s day and contrast the differences in libraries past and present. Visitors, young and old, will be welcome to browse books, play some games, listen to a story, and mingle with special Library VIPs: Natalie Ducharme, Director, Kelley Library and Miss Alice L. Hall, head librarian at the Salem Public Library 1924 – 1966 (43 years). Free. Open to the public.
Magic Fred - Back by popular demand!
Sat, April 19, 2-5pm, St. Joseph School Auditorium, 40 Main St, Salem. Let's support Bridging the Horizon and bring the grandkids to this magical event. Light appetizers and desserts will be served. Sat, June 21, 2-3:15pm, Salem High ride to Field of Dreams. Stay tuned for more details. SAWC anticipates participating in the historic and fun event as a continuum of Salem's 275th Anniversary.
Salem's 275th Anniversary Photography Scavenger Hunt.
Jan 1 - July 4, 2025. Get together with friends and form teams to explore Salem’s history by visiting current or former town landmarks. Snap a selfie or group photo at the site. Participants with the most correct locations that include corresponding photos will be entered into a drawing. Winners are announced at the Town Party on Aug 9.
